Biography

Sandra Lee is an Emmy-winning television chef and best-selling author whose expertise includes home arts, food, crafts, beauty, and product integration. he is also a cancer survivor, and her frank documentary regarding her treatment garnered numerous honors.

Lee's ever-popular show on Food Network, Semi-Homemade Cooking, ran for 15 seasons. It featured recipes using 70 percent store-bought ingredients and 30 percent from scratch. She now has a new show on Netflix called The Blue Ribbon Baking Championship. Sandra also hosts a holiday season series on QVC.

The New York Times says she is "the queen of making something out of nothing."

Lee has created and hosted numerous highly rated television programs that have been streamed and broadcast on Netflix, ABC, NBC, FOX, Roku, Discovery Family, Hallmark, Food Network, and The Cooking Channel.

Sandra's portrait hangs in the Washington D.C. Smithsonian Museum for her significant contributions and impact on the television food and culinary industry.

When Lee was diagnosed with early-stage cancer in 2015, she decided to document her treatment to educate others publicly; the result was the 2018 documentary RX: Early Detection, A Cancer Journey with Sandra Lee. Her work has been acknowledged with Capitol Hill's Congressional Families Excellence in Cancer Awareness Award and City of Hope's Life Award.

Philanthropy

Sandra works with many organizations to help needy people. She shares stories of how she co-founded the Los Angeles Chapter of UNICEF and donated the proceeds from her second cookbook to two organizations, God's Love We Deliver and Project Angel Food. She was appointed to the Board of Directors of the UN's World Food Program and was the spokesperson for Share Our Strengths, NO KID HUNGRY. She also serves on the board of the ELTON JOHN AIDS FOUNDATION.
