APB speaker Mike Hayes, former commanding officer of SEAL Team Two and longtime public servant and business leader, has released a new book, Mission Driven: The Path to a Life of Purpose. The book offers a practical roadmap for people at major crossroads in their lives, helping readers define success, lean into their core values, and translate purpose into action.
Mission Driven is written for those in transition—young adults, recent graduates, professionals shifting roles, or anyone reevaluating what “success” and “purpose” mean in their own lives. Publishers Weekly calls Mission Driven “an intelligent and actionable guide to living a meaningful life.”
Hayes’ credentials are anything but ordinary. Over the past two decades, he has served in elite military roles—including as commanding officer of SEAL Team Two, leading a 2,000-person special operations task force in southeastern Afghanistan. He also held positions in government, including as a White House Fellow and as director of defense policy and strategy at the National Security Council, working with Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama. In the private sector, Hayes has held several high-level executive roles; he is currently a managing director at Insight Partners, a large software investment firm.
