Rashaun Williams: The Power Player Behind a $750M Sports Investment Fund
19 May 2025

Venture capitalist, strategic investor, and APB exclusive speaker Rashaun Williams has taken the helm of the Harbinger Sports Partners Fund, serving as co-founder and managing partner of the new $750 million private equity fund targeting minority stakes in the biggest leagues in American sports: the NBA, MLB, and NFL.
Harbinger, which also includes former AMB Sports and Entertainment CEO Steve Cannon and Mark Cuban as general partners, is unique in its approach. Rather than chasing full franchise ownership, the fund aims to acquire up to 5% in minority positions in professional sports teams. The fund is expected to raise $750 million by 2027.
Williams is no stranger to spotting untapped opportunity. A former investment banker turned venture capitalist, he has built a reputation for shrewd early-stage investments in both tech and sports. Known as a guest Shark on ABC's Shark Tank, he is also a limited partner of the Atlanta Falcons. His commitment to financial literacy and economic inclusion has shaped him into a savvy investor who has bridged the gap between capital and underserved markets.
